Standing Orders for Courtroom Decorum

I. Scope and Purpose

1. These standing orders outline the rules of decorum and procedure to be observed within the courtroom. These orders apply solely to the courtroom over which the presiding judge exercises authority. The presiding judge may, at their discretion, issue alternative orders, which will supersede these standing orders. In the absence of such alternative orders, these standing orders shall govern the conduct of all parties. All parties are deemed to be on notice of these rules and must comply.

II. Real-Life Considerations and In-Game Proceedings

1. The court acknowledges the importance of and urges officers of the court to prioritise real-life personal, mental, and medical well-being over the proceedings. Reasonable accommodations will be made, as the court deems appropriate, to address such circumstances, given proper communication.
2. The court emphasizes that real-life circumstances are distinct from in-game proceedings. Should real-life issues prevent a party from participating for an extended period, the court reserves the right to proceed with the trial in the party's absence, treating their non-participation as a failure to respond.

III. Commentary and Editorializing in Court Filings

1. The court recognizes that the tone and intent of the filer are often apparent in legal documents; however, all officers of the court, including parties, counsel, and other participants, are expected to minimize editorial commentary, personal opinions, and ad hominem attacks in their submissions. Filings should focus on factual and legal arguments, adhering to the professional standards of courtroom decorum.
