Amend the New Criminal Code Act to Allow for Lesser Punishments​

Preamble: Turns out we went to court and offered an illegal deal, lets fix that!

1. Amendment
(a) The following is appended onto the New Criminal Code Act:

14. Plea Deals
(a) In the event that the defendant is willing to offer a guilty plea in return for a lesser sentence, the court will interpret any legally defined punishment as the "upper limit" and may grant a lesser sentence.
(i)The sentence will be granted at the courts own discretion, and may diverge from the plea deal if deemed necessary.
(ii) The lesser sentence must be a direct reduction of the original sentence and shall not include punishments associated with other offences i.e. pickpocketing may not result in a one-day ban from public office.

Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage
