Amend the New Criminal Code Act to Allow for Lesser Punishments​

Preamble: Turns out we went to court and offered an illegal deal, lets fix that!

1. Amendment
(a) The following is appended onto the New Criminal Code Act:

14. Plea Deals
(a) In the event that the defendant is willing to offer a guilty plea in return for a lesser sentence, the court will interpret any legally defined punishment as the "upper limit" and may grant a lesser sentence.
(i)The sentence will be granted at the courts own discretion, and may diverge from the plea deal if deemed necessary.
(ii) The lesser sentence must be derived from the original sentence, and cannot contain terms that the judge personally deems lesser, i.e. pickpocketing may not result in a one-day ban from public office.

Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage
