ADD OATHS OF OFFICE
Preamble: This bill shall hereby implement National Oaths which have to be taken upon ascending office.
1. Naming and Author
(a) This bill shall be titled “The National Oath Act”.
(b) This bill was authored by Doğan Karaca.
2. The Legislative
(a) Upon election of Parliament, its Speaker and its Deputy Speaker, the Speaker shall be tasked with publicly announcing an ingame parliament session for a swearing-in ceremony.
(b) During that session, Members of Parliament, the Speaker of Parliament and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament shall be sworn in.
(c) Members of Parliament shall be sworn in by the Speaker of Parliament, the Speaker of Parliament shall be sworn in by a Parliamentary Clerk and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament by the Speaker of Parliament.
(i) In case that a clerk is not in office or unavailable, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament may swear in the Speaker of Parliament.
(d) The Oath can either be given by voice or by being typed out in chat.
(e) The Oaths of the Legislative are as follows:
(i) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as a Member of Parliament faithfully, and legislate for the greater good of the Azalea Isles.
(ii) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as the Speaker of Parliament faithfully, and bipartisanly head and moderate the Legislative of the Azalea Isles.
(iii) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament faithfully, help the Speaker of Parliament in heading and moderating the Legislative, and take their place in case of their absence.
3. The Executive
(a) Upon election of a new government, the Prime Minister shall be tasked with announcing an ingame swearing-in ceremony.
(b) The Prime Minister shall be sworn in by a Judge or Justice of the Judiciary and the Ministers shall be sworn in by the Prime Minister.
(c) The Oath can either be given by voice or by being typed out in chat.
(d) The Oaths of the Executive are as follows:
(i) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as Prime Minister faithfully,
enforce the laws imposed by her majesty, and always work for the greater good of the Azalea Isles.
(ii) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as Minister of <Ministry> faithfully, enforce the laws imposed by her majesty, and always work for the greater good of the Azalea Isles.
4. The Judiciary
(a) Upon an appointment into the courts, the Prime Minister shall be tasked with announcing an ingame swearing-in ceremony.
(b) Justices and Judges shall both be sworn in by the Prime Minister.
(c) The Oath can either be given by voice or by being typed out in chat.
(d) The Oaths of the Judiciary are as follows:
(i) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as Justice faithfully, judge neutrally without any bias in my heart, and do so by upholding all laws and the guiding principles of the Azalea Isles.
(ii) By the grace of her majesty and in the name of the people, I, <Name>, hereby pledge to uphold the constitution, discharge my duties as Judge faithfully, judge neutrally without any bias in my heart, and do so by upholding all laws and the guiding principles of the Azalea Isles.
5. Provisions
(a) Upon passage of this act, it shall take effect on the 11th Parliament, the Cabinet of the 11th Parliament and the Judiciary during the 11th Parliament. The ceremonies shall be done in a timeframe of 1 week.
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
