Author: Hamzo AstronMartin, MP
Sponsor: N/A
Type: Act of Parliament
Preamble: This bill declares the "Apis mellifera", informally known as "western honey bees", as the official national animal of Azalea Isles, recognizing its importance to the nation’s wildlife, culture, and identity.
1. Short Title & Enactment
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the “National Animal Act”.
(b) This bill was authored by Hamzo AstonMartin.
2. Definitions
(a) A national animal is an official emblem chosen to represent a cultural identity and values of a nation.
(b) A western honey bee (also known as Apis mellifera) is a eusocial flying insect from the genus Apis of the largest bee family, Apidae.
3. Reasoning
(a) Western honey bees, whom from now on I shall refer to as just bees, as they're by far the most common type of bees found on the planet, were chosen from a couple of animals that I have presented in #political-forum by the people of Azalea Isles.
(b) Bees represent diligence, community, wisdom, productivity, and so much more. They represent Azalea Isles better than any other animal, hives function as perfectly synchronized, orderly, selfless communities, just like what we strive to be as a society.
(c) In industry they hold historic symbolism, bees represent productivity, a strong work ethic, and success born from pure effort and dilligence.
(d) The culture of Azalea Isles is highly rooted in nature, protection of wildlife and the ecosystem, thus bees are the clearest choice. Pollinating wild plants and trees, enabling them to reproduce is what bees are for in the ecosystem, and so much more that I do not have to name.
Enactment: The bill shall come into effect upon ratification by the crown.

Member of Parliament for the First Parliamentary District.
