Multi Man (Multiman155), Plaintiff
v.
playtohate4ever, Defendant
v.
playtohate4ever, Defendant
Civil Complaint:
On August 26, playtohate4ever murdered Plaintiff Multiman155, depriving Plaintiff of 32 levels he had earned. Playtohate4ever then robbed $62.14 from Multiman155. These damages are cognizable torts at common law and warrant the compensatory and punitive damages for which Plaintiff prays.
Parties:
Identify the plaintiff(s); defendant(s); co-defendant(s); and third parties by name.
- Plaintiff: Multi Man (Multiman155)
- Defendant: playtohate4ever
Factual Allegations:
Provide a concise statement of the facts giving rise to the claim, including the date, time, and location of the events in question if possible.
- On 26 August 2026, Defendant playtohate4ever killed Plaintiff Multiman155 (the "Killing").
- The Killing took place at or about the coordinates -1084, 69, 1436.
- The night prior to the Killing, and at the time of the Killing, Plaintiff had 32 levels of experience.
- Plaintiff lost the aforementioned 32 levels of experience due to the Killing.
- The market value of one experience bottle (also known as a bottle o'enchanting) is about $1.61.
- Restoring 32 levels of experience from 0 would require about 1628 experience to be consumed.
- One experience bottle delivers between 3 and 11 experience.
- After the Killing, Defendant robbed Plaintiff.
- The funds taken from Plaintiff in the robbery total $62.14.
- Defendant, as of the time of this filing, has taken no steps to return the robbed funds identified in Factual Allegation No. 9.
- Plaintiff Multiman155 is a lawyer.
Legal Claims:
- Common Law Tort of Conversion. Under the Guiding Principles of Civil Dispute, absent "clear and compelling testimony or documentation to the contrary, the person in possession of the property is presumed to be the rightful owner". Additionally, the Guiding Principles of Azalea Law permit compensatory damages to be "awarded by a court equivalent to the loss a party suffered. The amount awarded is based on the proven harm, loss, or injury suffered by the plaintiff" (see also (3) below) and for punitive damages to be awarded "when it is determined that the defendant has acted in a particularly harmful way abnormal of typical situations". Special damages are also authorized when it is "proven that these damages came from the initial action and did result in actual harm".
From these principles, it arises that (1) the law recognizes rightful owner of property and (2) that Courts may provide relief to this effect. This is the principle that underlies the verdict in a prior case at summary judgement (see: fluffywaafelz v. ko531 (2024) CV 03, granting compensation for "the total sum of financial loss incurred by the robberies") and at default judgement in several others (see: White Shadow & Benjamin Higgins v. Skibidi Fart (2025 CV 06), Iturgen Bolir v. Gaven Carnahan (2026) CV 01, and Multi Man v. Carrot Guy (2026) CV 05).
In order to protect the Guiding Principles on right to property and assess damages, Plaintiff asks the Court to recognize a common law tort of conversion. This tort would consist of the taking of another's property without authorization under the law, and with intent to permanently deprive the rightful owner of that property and convert it into one's own. Tortfeasors would be subject to payment of damages, in line with the Guiding Principles.
Applying the common law tort to the facts here, the Defendant took the Plaintiff's financial property without legal authorization (indeed, this conduct is prohibited under New Criminal Code Act Section 4(e)(iii)(1), which creates an offense when one "unlawfully takes the property of another person, especially by use of force, weapons, intimidation, or stealth"), and did not return funds despite it being trivially easy to do so. - Common Law Tort of Battery. As previously noted, the Guiding Principles of Azalea Law permit compensatory damages to be "awarded by a court equivalent to the loss a party suffered. The amount awarded is based on the proven harm, loss, or injury suffered by the plaintiff" and for punitive damages to be awarded "when it is determined that the defendant has acted in a particularly harmful way abnormal of typical situations". Special damages are also authorized when it is "proven that these damages came from the initial action and did result in actual harm".
As proceeds from the Guiding Principles on damages, and in line with the prohibition on murder (and other kinds of physical violence) placed by the Parliament, Plaintiff asks the Court to recognize a Common Law tort of battery. This tort would occur when an individual illegally harms with another player without the consent of the harmed player, causing the harmed player to suffer real damages as a consequence. Because killings not in self-defense and not with consent are considered to be murder, a criminal offense (see: New Criminal Code Act, Section 4(a)(iii)(1-2)), such killings are unlawful and would cause civilly compensable damage to players when those killings themselves cause further damages.
Applying the common law tort to the facts here, Defendant murdered Plaintiff, causing physical harm to Plaintiff and causing Plaintiff to lose 32 levels of experience. These experience levels can be valued based on its replacement value, meaning that these damages are real and cognizable under the law. - Compensatory Damages. Under the Guiding Principles of Azalea Law, compensatory damages are "awarded by a court equivalent to the loss a party suffered. The amount awarded is based on the proven harm, loss, or injury suffered by the plaintiff". Two kinds of compensatory damages arise in this case.
The first kind of compensatory damage arises from the loss of experience levels suffered by Plaintiff. On the evening of 25 August, Plaintiff had 32 experience levels (see: Exhibits P-002 and P-003, which show the levels as of 25 August). After the Killing, Plaintiff lost these levels (see: Exhibit P-004, showing Plaintiff's levels after the Killing). Plaintiff will testify that Plaintiff did not use these experience levels, nor lose them to any other death, prior to the Killing. As such, the Killing caused Plaintiff to lose 32 levels. These levels would require 1628 experience to make whole (see: Exhibit P-006, page 10). If experience bottles randomly give between 3 and 11 experience (see: Exhibit P-006, page 9), a mean of 7 experience per bottle is obtained. This leads to 1628 divided by 7 experience bottles being required in the average case, which rounds at the nearest whole number to 233 experience bottles. Because experience bottles cost $1.61 at market rate (see: Exhibit P-005), the total loss of 32 levels is equal to about 233*$1.61, which is $375.13.
The second kind of compensatory damage arises from the Defendant's stealing of Plaintiff's money. As demonstrated in the ninth factual allegation (as supported by Exhibit P-001), Defendant stole $62.14 from the Plaintiff, a concrete loss suffered by the Plaintiff.
The total compensatory damages suffered by Plaintiff are the sum of these two kinds of compensatory damages. This is $375.13 for lost experience levels, plus $62.14 for the funds stolen, for a total of $437.27. - Punitive Damages. Under the Guiding Principles, punitive damages are authorized in circumstances in which a "defendant has acted in a particularly harmful way abnormal of typical situations". Defendant killed the Plaintiff (see: Factual Allegation No. 1; Exhibit P-001) and robbed the Plaintiff (see: Factual Allegations No. 8-9; Exhibit P-001), thus acting in a particularly harmful way that it outside of the normal course of life here in our peaceful isles.
- Legal Fees. Under the Damages Reform Act, "[t]he judiciary of the Azalea Isles shall recognize a minimum legal cost of $1,000 per week incurred by parties represented by a lawyer in a trial". Plaintiff Multi Man is a lawyer, and is proceeding pro se. Thus, as a lawyer representing himself in a trial, the Plaintiff is indeed represented by a lawyer, and we thus ask the Court to award legal fees.
Prayer for Relief:
Request the specific relief sought by the plaintiff, including monetary damages, injunctive relief, or other appropriate remedies. Please review the Court Orders, Powers, and Judgments thread for further explanation.
- Compensatory damages in the amount of $437.27 (the sum of $375.13 for lost experience levels and $62.14 directly for funds stolen), plus any further damages proven at trial.
- Special damages in the amount of any court fees paid plus any special damages subsequently proven at trial.
- Punitive damages in the amount of $500. This is calculated by adding the fine for theft under the New Criminal Code Act ($200) to the first-offense fine for murder under the same ($300). (See: Multi Man v. Carrot Guy (2026) CV 05, granting civil punitive damages arising from robbery under the old Criminal Code Foundations Act in an amount equal to the criminal fine.) In the instant case, a first-offense fine is chosen as a basis because no other murders material to the Killing and subsequent robbery are alleged in the factual allegations.)
- Legal fees in the amount of $1,000 per week, as authorized under the Damages Reform Act.
- Any other relief that this Court may deem proper, including (but not limited to) nominal damages in the alternative.
