Empower the Library of Parliament​

1. Short Title and Enactment​

(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Library of Parliament Act".

(b) This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.

2. Duties​

(a) The Library of Parliament is charged with keeping an up-to-date record of the entire body of law of the Azalea Isles.

(b) At any time an entry within the Library of Parliament is updated, a record of the change must be made within the entry.

(i) In the event that the amendment is part of a greater Act, only a link to the amending Act and the amendment itself need to be recorded, not a copy of the whole Act.​

3. Librarians​

(a) The Library of Parliament shall have at least one Librarian at all times. The Crown is responsible for staffing.

4. Custodial Powers​

(a) All Librarians will be empowered to:

(i) Remove repealed or stricken text,​

​

(ii) Fix typos,​

​

(iii) Fix formatting,​

​

(iv) Fix numbering,​

​

(v) Remove any Repeals sections, once executed; and​

​

(vi) Remove any Amendments sections, once executed.​

​

(b) Librarians are forbidden from making any change that would alter the meaning of the text.

5. Numbering​

(a) All Acts of Parliament shall follow the following numbering structure:

(i) Section (denoted by Arabic numerals proceeding by a period),​

(ii) Subsection (denoted by lowercase letters in parentheses),​

​

(iii) Subsubsection (denoted by lowercase Roman numerals in parentheses); and​

​

(iv) Subsubsubsection (denoted by Arabic numerals in parentheses).​
