A
BILL
TO

Require Government Reports

Preamble: The pending repeal of the omnibus will no longer require a state of the isles, and Members of Parliament are currently woefully underinformed. This bill acts to remedy this by requiring government reports, including an annual State of the Isles address and twice a month ministry reports.

1. Short Title
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Government Reporting Act".
(b) This bill was authored by Lysander Lyon.

2. State of the Isles
(a) The Prime Minister shall prepare a monthly address, to be made in-game, summarizing notable legislation, Government operations, and other such efforts.
(i) This address shall be called the State of the Isles, and copies or summaries of the address shall be made available after it is given, in the government announcements channel.

3. Ministerial Reports
(a) All government ministries must provide a report to Parliament once a month.
(b) Each Ministry may choose when to provide the report, but this should be a date that the Ministry consistently is able to achieve. A Ministry should not report on the 12th of one month and the 28th of another.
(i) Ministries may be granted up to two additional days to submit their reports by the Prime Minister, but the Prime Minister must inform Parliament of this with the reason for it being done.
(c) The report provided to Parliament does not need to be exhaustive, but should cover any major programs or undertakings the Ministry has done since the last report, and any major programs the Ministry is in the process of making happen.
(i) The report does not need to cover every single thing the Ministry has done or is doing, but should provide a good-quality representation of what the Ministry has engaged in and is engaging in.

Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
