The Mayor invites expressions of interest for Constable, leading the Free District of Salmonberry's Department of Public Safety.

About the role
The Constable will lead local policing, support public safety and criminal-law enforcement in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, and develop policing services and facilities as resources permit.

We are looking for someone with sound judgment, a calm approach to difficult situations and a commitment to fair, lawful treatment of residents.

Appointment
The Mayor appoints and may dismiss department heads at their discretion. This office also carries membership of the Advisory Council, including its referendum-petition responsibilities. Departmental services will develop as staffing, facilities and authorized funding become available.

3. Usual availability and approximate time you could contribute each week: 4-8PM on weekdays, 25-30 hours weekly

4. Why are you interested, and what relevant experience would you bring? Include any policing, legal, public-service, team leadership or conflict-resolution experience.

I am interested because as an MOJ prosecutor I saw the good work the national police force did and I would like to bring that to the free district of salmonberry. I have experience as a Field agent of MOSS and as a Criminal Prosecutor of the MOJ

5. How would you begin developing public safety services in Salmonberry? Explain your first priorities and how you would work with the Ministry of Justice while local staffing and facilities develop.

I would firstly work on building the local police force up and working on regulations and rules for those who are a part of the force. Then I would work on securing items like tasers and cuffs and getting the local officers the permissions to use them. These would likely have to be recieved by the MOJ and I would use this opportunity to build relations while getting the resources necesarry for law enforcement

6. What other roles, commitments or business interests should the Mayor know about when considering your application?

I work for MOSS, MOS and MUD as a Field agent, Auditor and Property Inspector respectively. While in the private sector I work as a lawyer with low work-load.
