Type: Act of Parliament
1. Short Title
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Diplomatic Procedures Act".
(b) This bill was authored by Lysander Lyon.
2. Ambassadors
(a) Foreign governments may send ambassadors to the Azalea Isles to engage in diplomatic communication.
(b) These ambassadors act within the Azalea Isles as official representatives of their respective foreign government, and may be recalled by their government at any time.
(c) The Azalea Isles Parliament may vote to expel an ambassador at any time, or all ambassadors from any country at any time, by a simple majority of votes cast.
3. Embassies
(a) Foreign governments may submit a request to acquire land to construct an embassy. These requests must be approved by Parliament, and a foreign government may have no more than one embassy.
4. Official Communication
(a) Only communications issued by the Minister of State, Deputy Prime Minister, or Prime Minister should be considered official communications.
(i) Discussion with ambassadors may occur in other places, but formally “official” communications between governments should continue taking place through letter format.
(b) No other individual or entity should attempt to formally represent the Azalea Isles or the Azalea Isles’ position in discussions with ambassadors or foreign governments.
(i) Attempting to do so shall be qualified as Treason.
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
