1. Short Title
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Azalean Land Protection Act".
(b) This bill was authored by Lysander Lyon.
2. Land Protections
(a) No land in the Azalea Isles may be used for the purposes of foreign governments without parliamentary approval.
(b) If land is used in such manner without parliamentary approval, it should be reported to Parliament as soon as it is discovered.
(c) Violation of this Act shall lead to plot seizure and/or eviction.
(i) Discretionary leniency on allowing a time frame to sell the plot, or move out, may be granted by Parliament once the matter is brought to their attention as required by 2b.
(d) This shall not immediately apply to plots already owned by or being used for the purposes of foreign governments. Instead, these governments shall have a weeklong period upon the ratification of this bill to provide, in writing, their purpose for the acquired land (directly owned, rented, leased, or any other property ownership classification), and a full list of said land, and Parliament shall vote on allowing the land to remain or ordering a reversal of the acquisition.
(e) Ambassadors may own land separately from this process, so long as it is strictly used for non-foreign government purposes. An ambassador building a house is fine, building an embassy is not.
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
