1. Short Title and Enactment
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Electoral Registration Act".(b) This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
2. Party Registration
(a) All political parties must be registered with the Ministry of State.(b) All political parties must provide the following information when registering:
(i) Name
(ii) Short Form Name, which must be 3 to 5 characters.
(c) The Ministry of State may deny a party name if:(i) The name may reasonably be confused with an already registered party; or
(ii) The name contains language that directly attacks another party or individual; or
(iii) The name contains inappropriate language.
(d) The Ministry of State must deregister a party if:(i) The party has failed to stand candidates in 2 consecutive elections.
3. Voter Registration
(a) Citizens must register their residency through the /profile command.(b) Citizens must own or be the primary tenant in order to claim residency at a property.
(i) A primary tenant is the person who is legally responsible for paying rent for the property.
(c) Citizens may not alter their residency while an electoral period is open.4. Repeals
(a) The Electoral Crimes and Registration Act shall be repealed in full.(b) The Voter Registration Act shall be repealed in full.
