Preamble:
Whereas the offices of Mayor and Member of Parliament serve separate functions and should be filled independently to improve local representation and accountability;
Therefore, Parliament enacts this amendment to separate the offices of Mayor and Member of Parliament.
2. Electoral Districts
(a) Members of Parliament shall be elected through Parliamentary elections.
(b) Mayors shall be elected through separate municipal elections.
(c) Election to the office of Mayor shall not grant membership in Parliament, and election to Parliament shall not grant the office of Mayor.
(b) Any reference in the Local Representation Act to a "Mayor-Member of Parliament" shall be replaced with "Mayor"
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.

(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Local Representation Separation Amendment."2. Amendment
(a) Section 2(a) of the Local Representation Act is repealed and replaced with the following:2. Electoral Districts
