Preamble: There are several flaws within The Budget Act, especially as relates to fiscal responsibility, that need to be immediately corrected.
1. Short Title and Enactment
(a) This bill shall be referred to as the "Amendment to The Budget Act".
(b) This bill was authored by Lysander Lyon, MP.
2. Cabinet Wages
(a) Section 2.4 of The Budget Act shall be amended, removing "The Prime Minister decides the wages of Ministers and members of the Prime Minister’s office." and replacing it with "Parliament shall vote on a wage for Ministers, proposed by the Prime Minister, at the beginning of the month."
(b) A new part of the section, labeled 2.6, shall be added, saying "The Prime Minister shall set the wages for the Deputy Prime Minister and for the Cabinet Advisors. This wage may not be higher than the wage set for Ministers, and can be lowered by a vote of Parliament."
(c) Section 5 of The Budget Act shall be removed in its entirety.
Enactment: This Act comes into force immediately upon passage.
