Establish Member of Parliament Conflict of Interests
Preamble
Members of Parliament need to make it clear what they have possible conflicts of interest in so there can be clarity in what they do.
2) Declaring a Conflict of Interest
1. A member of Parliament shall have to declare any and all conflicts of interests upon entering parliament. This shall be conducted after the Speaker of the House has been elected and Parliament has been formed.
2. Conflicts of interest will be declared in #member-interests in a thread and will be made available to the public.
3. Conflicts of interests will follow the following format:
Employment:
Government Jobs:
Private Jobs:
Owned Businesses/Business Type:
Individuals:
Personal:
Commercial:
Assets:
Property:
4. Members of Parliament will have 48 hours to declare conflicts of interest after the thread is opened by the Speaker or Deputy Speaker.
5. Members of Parliament will be expected to update their conflicts of interest if circumstances change and they no longer have a conflict of interest or gain a conflict of interest.
6. If a Member of Parliament comes into a new conflict of interest, they will have 48 hours to declare it in the thread that their conflicts of interest are declared in.
2) Fines
1. Members of Parliament will be required to fill out the template above, failure to do so will result in a $1500 fine administered by the Ministry of State.
2. A member of Parliament that is found to not declare a COI after declaring will be fined a total of $5000 by the Ministry of State.
Enactment: This Act shall come into force immediately upon passage.

- Conflict of Interest (COI) : A situation where the personal or private matters of an individual interfere with professional duties or abilities to make a fair decision.
- Member of Parliament: An individual elected to the governing body by a vote in a general or bi election.
